His work is defined by reduction, stillness, precise composition and a restrained visual language developed across analogue and digital processes.

Gerald Berghammer’s photographic work ranges from quiet winter landscapes and ancient forests to coastal studies, architectural compositions and expansive waterscapes. Black-and-white photography remains at the centre of his practice, using reduction, negative space and carefully controlled tonal relationships to transform familiar landscapes into quiet, often abstract compositions. Colour photography forms a deliberately selected extension of this visual language.

His photographs are created across Austria and other parts of Europe as well as selected international locations, with recurring subjects including trees, water, coastlines, mountains and architectural structures. Long exposures are used where appropriate to simplify movement and emphasise form, space and atmosphere rather than spectacle.

Selected bronze sculptures by Nando Kallweit complement the photographic collection, creating a focused dialogue between photography and figurative sculpture.
